This morning was fun. Gavin got ready pretty well and looked so cute with his hat on. Of course he couldn't keep it on for school, but still. Jace stayed home one more day. He probably could have gone today, but he didn't want to and since it was a early-out day, I didn't want to deal with getting to the bus stop twice in a shorter amount of time. We decided he could stay home until his medicine is gone, which will be tomorrow morning. The younger three kids watched out the window as Gavin's bus drove away, then they did some cool tricks and played around. We made peanut butter fudge with cocoa crispies last night, so we had to check it out this morning...turned out awesome! Cosi had pretty hair when she woke up, so I had to take a pic, even though she was not wearing a shirt (oh well).
I had an orthodontist appt today so he could look at that tooth that was going behind the front tooth. The dentist agreed with me that it was a problem and he replaced two brackets. My appt went longer than I planned and I was not able to get Cosette to her dance class (we are just missing everything!). She was not sad about it though, she wanted to go home and "eat noodles". While she was at the appt with me, she dropped a hand-held mirror and it broke. The funny thing was that nobody even flinched. The doc said "uh, oh" as he continued his work, but that was it. Poor girl felt bad, but its all good. I should try and find them a new mirror for the next time I go in.
When Gavin came home, he was so calm. Everyone relaxed and did their own thing. It was like I was in the Twilight Zone. It actually lasted a long time. I found Gavin in his room listening to music and drawing on a notepad. It was nice to see him choose to do calm stuff rather than walk around sword fighting the invisible zombie that is throwing random stuff all over the house. Isabelle was here for a while and she was able to help me get quite a bit accomplished again. I am feeling much less stressed about our disorganized house.
Gavin went to a Camp K activity to learn about the therapy animals. He said he didn't get to see the cat because the cat was sick today. He showed me the coloring pages he did and was very pleasant. Today has just been an easy-going, yet productive day and all the kids have been great! They are all very excited to go on the trip tomorrow and they all showed excitement about seeing their dad. I am going to have to prep them in case that doesn't happen, but you should know that all the kids miss you very much. We hope you are doing well in your training. We are all cheering or you... Go Daddy!!
